please stop scrolling. most of us are reblogging pretty girls, skinny girls, etc. this was my best friend Rachel, wasn’t she beautiful? 2 years ago, on January 16, she died of cancer. a rare type of cancer that only younger people got. the type of cancer Rachel got was called rhabdomyosarcoma, a cancer that clings to the muscle close to bones. for a full two years she suffered through chemo, radiation, medication after medication and just when they thought she beat it, the cancer came back in 5 more spots on her body. the chance of her living was really slim. by the end we knew she was going to die, we were told to say goodbye to her. i didn’t get to say goodbye, the night before i was planning on visiting her, she passed away. she lived about ten steps up the street from me, and i put off saying goodbye.. i’m not posting this as some sob story, i just want people to see just how limited our lives are, and how valuable living really is. we need to raise awareness of cancer, all types of cancer, for people like Rachel. the people who didn’t get the chance, and for the people whose chances are slim, because eventually i think we can help. rest in peace Rach.
